I've just bought a Laserjet 5M printer. As you'll know, this has an ethernet port and PostScript, and its specs say that it is Mac-ready.
But no matter what I try, I cannot get the printer to appear in the Chooser when I click on the Laserwriter 8 icon in the left pane.
I can't help feeling that there's something I've missed, but what?
I'm not familiar with the 5M, but with the previous generation (4xx) you needed to do some setup on the printer console to activate the various ports. Perhaps the printer is not setup properly. It was really straight forward once one learned to navigate the built-in printer menus on that tiny LCD.
