How about a DVD-ROM/CD-RW combo then? Speaking of ATA, will I get any adverse effects (clicks and such) with IDE? My main goal for PM is audio hobbying, and it is very lightweight, things like ripping VHS-audioed FM radio shows into CD compillations for personal use, transferring old vinyls, etc. PM is chosen because the logistical infrasturcture is already in place in terms of IO channels so I wouldn't need anything else for this modestly loading activity, and SM900 has somewhat faster bus and more futzing space with its number of expansion slots. Video: my son made a sacrificial gift: a card is saying it is ATI Nexus GX Mac or something, I think it will suffice for PM. Do I need drivers for 9.1? I will may go adventurous on SM with video. As for how many nanoseconds my RAM is, I don't really know. I bought it about a year ago in anticipation of something like this coming my way. it was cheap then, that's all remember. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? SBC Yahoo!
