David's questions, and more than you wanted.

Several years ago I got home from vacation to find my
original HD (Western) had gone south. Got a 34G
IBM-plugged into the main SCSI cord, divided into 4
parts and am using it has my HD-I have 9.1 on one
partition, 9.0 on another to cross Norton Disk Doctor,
and 2 for storage. Wanted more storage so I got a 18g
IBM and had to plug it into the Jackhammer card (the
original drive was here) because it wouldn't work
anywhere else.
Wanted more storage, inquired on the list and it was
suggested that I go ATA since the machinery was
cheeper. Got a 120G IBM Deskstar from OWC and an
ATA/6280. The HD spins up, and still does. OWC told
me that the card and HD were not compatable so I got
another card, the Siig ultra 133/100 pro. Still no HD
in SetUp.
I tried a new cable, nothing, currently pluged into
the cable that came with the card. Assume that the
cable is in the right place since with the slot and
bump you can only plug it in one way.

Therefore: I am trying to mount a new drive.

If there is a green light on the bottom of the card I
don't see it.

The drive spins.

Using 9.1 as my main OS.

Only one drive on the ATA card.

I have the SCSI probe from an earlier mailing-not
there.

Slave-master jumper in right place-got diagrams from
IBM.

Have the latest card update. Bill Smith
