Hi,

I'm trying to get an S900 running, picked up from eBay. All seems to be
okay, with the exception of a couple of drives.

First off, it's running OS 9.1, and about 100mb RAM (will put in more when
I'm past the drive issue). I'll do the 9.2.2 upgrade after I'm past this
problem.

The internal 2-gig drive is okay. That's where the good news end.

I'm trying to get a Seagate "big foot" external hooked up to it, but it
loses the driver every time I shut down the computer. I have to manually
update it through Drive Setup, restart, and it shows up again. What would
cause that and how do I get rid of the problem?

I'm also trying to get an IBM fast/narrow installed and can't figure the
jumpers out. There is nothing on the drive to indicate what pins are for
what SCSI positions. If anybody knows this sort of thing, please advise.

I'm also going to install a new 10K ultra2 drive on this thing. Any
recommendations on a SCSI card to go along with it? At the beginning I'll
just use an 80-50 adapter straight, or 80-68 adapter with U/W card.

If all this is successful, I'll have about 65gb of storage, though operating
at different speeds. If more is needed, I'll go the Acard/133 route and add
an IDE drive.

Thanks for any help.

Jerry
