Looks like I've got some work ahead of me to make sure of the proper
positioning. The money has already gone through. I've purchased a bunch of
these, which are advertised as new Seagate Ultra 2, 18gb drives, and I've
purchased 80-50 pin adapters. The guy has great feedback on eBay, and is
extremely responsive, so I'm hopeful for a smooth transaction.

Overall, the reason I went with these is to stay with SCSI. We've had
problems with ATA/66 cards (Sonnet) on our graphics stations and I didn't
want that potential headache on machines for the sales staff and others.
Cost wasn't the main issue. A used ATA/66 is about $45 and a 40-gig IDE
drive is less. I could land a set for about $80. Each of these Seagates and
adapter is about $37, landed, and I couldn't find a better deal on SCSI
drives anywhere. I just want as much stability as I can get.

I've got one and it has worked well. I was thinking more in terms of a card
that will give maximum speed benefits if we build a RAID system with two or
more of these 10K Ultra2 drives. What card would give us the optimal
performance?

Thanks.
