Alan,
I had two SCSI drives in my S900 along with a Western
Digital Special Edition 120 gig 7200 RPM drive
connected to my Sonnet controller. Having those slow
SCSI drives in there really slowed the system down.
Once I removed them from the S900, it made a huge
difference. The only SCSI device I have connected to
my S900 now is the 8x SCSI CDROM drive that shipped
with it.

To your other question, yes, I was talking about live
capture of audio and video.

Lastly, as far as I know, ATA devices don't have
addresses under Mac OS X. My WDSE HD is set as master,
and another device would be set to slave if it shared
the controller's main bus with the HD. You could have
two master devices if you used both buses on the ATA
card.
