Hmmm. are you saying that drive stats will vary based on CPU speed? This hadn't occurred to me as both CPUs are fast enough not to be concerned about interleave values. I figured I could run the tests, replace the mother board, and do 'em again. The drive is definitely slow. Stable and pretty fast, but decidedly not modern. >For a > Mystic, doing a Before & After comparison ought to > be fun. 8^) So far, I've been very impressed. The original Clolor Classic was a known Slow Poke but this thing flies. I opted for the "no solder" approach when I saw the size of the resistors I'd be adding and removing. Right now I have an unaltered one running right next to it and they're both running AfterDark with a Module that draws patterns on the screen. The Mystic draws a bunch in the same time the stock CC draws one. I would have thought there would have been some stats on how much improvement to expect, but there doesn't seem to be any on the site I got the directions from. Did find a little program that compares everything to a Plus. QABenchmark. The CC scored 4 times faster; the Mystic nearly 31 times faster than the Plus! Thanks for you thoughts.
