Well, let's face it. This is an OLD computer! No PCI
slots in either the CC or the Perf 575. It does have a
Comm slot and a LC-PDS slot that I may have found an
LCIII ethernet card that may work in it. At least the
computer knows it's there. I haven't gotten around to
hooking it up yet, tho.

I'll have to check before doing the tests after the
swap. There may be some values stored on the MB that
could make a difference. The Mystic also has 20 megs
of RAM instead of the 4 on the MB of the CC.

That sounds familiar. I may have that somewhere, but
it may be much more sophisticated than QABenchmark. It
only rests 3 things and I don't remember how thorough
it is. I'll see if I can't find MacBench. I think you
used to be able to get it from MacWorld, but I
cou;ldn't find any downloads there anymore.

Just in case any of you listers have a Color Classic
sitting around, you should try this. The software
solution is non-destructive so you can always go back.
But why would you? The speed boost is stunning! For a
compact Mac, this is almost usable. I should try
putting some real software on it now. 8^)
