Well, let's face it. This is an OLD computer! No PCI slots in either the CC or the Perf 575. It does have a Comm slot and a LC-PDS slot that I may have found an LCIII ethernet card that may work in it. At least the computer knows it's there. I haven't gotten around to hooking it up yet, tho. > One variable is too easy 8) . I'll have to check before doing the tests after the swap. There may be some values stored on the MB that could make a difference. The Mystic also has 20 megs of RAM instead of the 4 on the MB of the CC. > > >Did find a little program that compares everything > to a Plus. QABenchmark. > > MacBench is similar, a PowerMac version. That sounds familiar. I may have that somewhere, but it may be much more sophisticated than QABenchmark. It only rests 3 things and I don't remember how thorough it is. I'll see if I can't find MacBench. I think you used to be able to get it from MacWorld, but I cou;ldn't find any downloads there anymore. Just in case any of you listers have a Color Classic sitting around, you should try this. The software solution is non-destructive so you can always go back. But why would you? The speed boost is stunning! For a compact Mac, this is almost usable. I should try putting some real software on it now. 8^) ===== Steve Hardy __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
