Regards the 7000: I had one in a S900 in slot 1 but...it worked so-so. I ended up "downgrading" to a Voodoo III.
My machine is a Sonnet 450 G3 upgrade with a VST IDE card , a AHA 2940, and a stack of disks both IDE and SCSI. Most of the SCSI drives are on external which helps with power. Opsys= Mac OS 9.1 and Jaguar 10.2.8. Now, the video issue: With the Radeon 7000 in place it will boot up fine on OS X but, until the Aqua GUI shows. I have a blank screen. Nothing. Dead. With the Voodoo III in place I can boot into single user mode or when booting I at least have the grey Apple logo. I do not run games/ graphics apps on this box so I saw no real advantage in the 7000 over the Voodoo so, as I said, I "downgraded" to the earlier card. BTW. Both cards are re-flashed PC versions. -Bart Keeper of the Network from Heck -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
