I haven't kept up with this thread but if you lost track of all your mails that reside on your computer;
If you use Netscape for mail, go into the Preferences folder and look for your netscape users folder. Find the InBox and InBox.snm files. Those contain all your incoming mails that were accumulating. Same thing with Sent and the corresponding .snm file and so on and so forth. If you see them, squirrel them away safely before you attempt to restore things.
