Elliot,

I just remembered something. In the older Outlook Express apps, you can run
what's called 'Microsoft First Run'. You should find it in the folder where
OE was installed. Double click on it and let it do its thing. Hopefully
that will fix it.

It may be that the hold down option method didn't work because you are using
an older version of OE.

I guess you should first do a search for 'Messages' on your hard disk.
These are all your emails that have basically become a little database. I'm
pretty sure this is what the msg folder was still called in version 4.5.
It is in 5.0. Whatever you find, make a second copy of them on another
disk just to have a backup. Then run the 'Microsoft First Run'. If that
doesn't fix it, then you can try placing some of those other 'message' files
you just stored elsewhere into the Outlook Express 'Identities' folder where
the newer incomplete one resides.

Find that 'Microsoft First Run'. It is literally a repair app for OE. It
may even be in a folder called 'Microsoft Internet Self-Repair'.

I assume you still have all your address info. If not, they too will be in
the 'Identities' Folder. Even if the Repair does work, you might just copy
everything in the identities folder to be safe.

Hopefully these will save your stuff. Keep us informed. Good luck Again!

Dave
