Hi Elliot,

I'm not sure this will help you but it may be worth a try.

I am actually using MS Entourage email client now under OSX, but a week ago
for reasons unknown (hmmm, maybe a pattern developing), my Entourage would
not open past the splash screen. Of course I ran DW, Permissions and other
Disk Utility but nothing fixed it. Out of a fluke urge with no idea it
would help, I held down the option key when opening the app.

To my surprise, a window came up asking if I was sure I wanted to compact
and rebuild the database? Well this is new, obviously I said OK. After it
was done, I was able to open the app without any problems. So apparently
some MS apps come with a few hidden fixes for the database when files get
too big & corrupted.

Reading your post, I decided to check if it would work in my older Outlook
Express in OS 9. Sure does!

So you might consider trying this to see if it rebuilds your email database.

Good luck!
