I bought a PowerLogix G3 900 upgrade from OWC Feb 8th and have been struggling since then to install.

Yesterday I downloaded the "G3G4CacheProfiler1.5" from PowerLogix to the hard drive I set up to the boot drive.
I then out found I had been mislead by the CD that came with the Carrier Card from Daystar. The CD had a Cache Control installer that turns out wont work with my S900.
Now it is mostly OK but not fully checked as yet.

I have two scsi drives with three systems on three partitions on the internal scsi bus and one 120G ATA with three partitions and three systems on an SIIG Ultra ATA 133/100 controller card. I have been too lazy "to do housekeeping" and consolidate systems and data hence all the systems. But no problems with the PPC 233, OS9.1 and OS8.1( for some old programs that have not or ever will be upgraded).

When I boot into the G3 900 with Carrier Card set to Bus=50 Mhz, Run Freq = 250 MHz it boots to 475 MHz (OS9.1). This is with only the target drive connected on the internal drive. The other scsi and the ATA are not powered.

The switches on the ZIF are as received. X5.5 I think. But it only matters at boot since it winds up as 475/50 = 9.5. The carrier is set to 250/50 = 5. I set it low while initially trying to get a successful boot. Since success, I tried setting the Carrier Card to 300/50 = 6 and 500/50 =10 but it makes no difference it still boots to 475. Just have to work on that.

Before success I had reinitialized one of the 9 Gig scsi's and reinstalled OS9.1, So I do know how it would have performed with all data still on it.
I boot into Extension set OS9.1 Base with the G3G4CacheProfiler1.5 INIT added.

When I reconnect the other scsi and try to boot the target scsi the system goes through a reboot ( normal) and then crashes.

This crash is the same as many others that occured with the target only before the new G3G4CacheProfiler1.5 was installed. That is both scsi's were un-blessed. Running Nortons Disk Doctor finds that fault and re-blesses them.
After the crash the system tries to reboot but since all bootable systems have been un-blessed start-up only gets to a "Question Mark"

My questions before I move all data from my main boot scsi so I can experiment is:
"Will the PowerLogix G3 900 upgrade allow only one scsi or partition to have a blessed OS or any OS at all"?

"Do all OS's on other drives have to have been used to boot into the G3 up-grade to co-exist( on the same bus or ATA also) with the up-graded boot disk"?

I would ask Jason at PowerLogix but he seems to be swamped, at least he has not responded to me lately.

Also I can't find the PowerLogix products at OWC. What happened?

TIA

Ernie
