The SCSI interface is indeed 50 pin. More detail here: <http://www.teac.com/DSPD/pdf/cdw0070a.pdf> It's possible to put them in an external enclosure, but using the external SCSI port of the S900 will only let you burn up to 8X--I've tested this :( OTOH, they seem a lot less sensitive to heat build up than comparable Yamaha burners, so the Teac makes a more viable internal replacement.
