A full version of HDST came with the drive. Reason given was Apple's Drive Setup would not recognize and format external firewire drives in legacy macs. This is for a S900 running 9.1. Would it be possible when you took the drive to work another driver from X took over and changed it, causing some minor incompatibilities at home as a result ?
