Hi Walter; Just something to try --- (From S900 manual)
From "Machine OFF"
(1) hit 'Power on' --
(2) IMMEDIATELY hit the 'Open drawer' button on the CD Drive.
(3) Insert CD & close drive drawer (or just close drawer if the CD is already loaded).
(4) Hold down the "C" key on the keyboard (seems like forever)
The "Open & closing" of the drive seems to have something to do with whether or not the system starts to read from the CD.
This I found did work on an S900.
