And the developers here have told me to shut up or write my own code,

problem.

* That's not the point. Just because someone disagrees with you about
a feature, doesn't mean they're joking.

* Could you please link me to where you were told to shut up? From all
the threads I've read here, the response to complaints about the forms
manager has been:
-- The Form manager in the shared Mozilla codebase is what is there
now, so continuing to use the old for form manager requires coding the
is specific to SeaMonkey.
-- There was not enough resources to code the SeaMonkey form manager
in 2.0, but we'd on getting it in the next major release.
-- Help coding it would be appreciated.

1) My synopsis may have been over-dramatic, but that was the gist of
what I heard in this forum. I don't have time to go searching through
months and months of postings to find chapter and verse, sorry. It's
probably not news to you that after a month of bitching and kvetching
from all sides, some developers reached the end of their ropes and
started sounding exasperated.

It /is/ news to me. I have been reading this newsgroup since it was
created and have never seen SeaMonkey developers tell someone to shut
up. If you make the time to accuse them, you should make the time to
back it up. Mozilla is not interested in building communities around
people who make false accusations.
There is a searchable archive of this at
<http://groups.google.com/group/mozilla.support.seamonkey>.

As I said already, the accusation may have been false technically ("shut
up" was not the precise phrase used), but that was the gist of what I
read here -- that they were tired of the complaints about the Form
Manager and didn't want to hear it anymore.

I'm not going to get into a petty semantic debate over precisely who
said what to whom or precisely what word means what; it's above both of
us. Please try to see past the details to the big picture, which is that
a lot of people complained and we hit a dead end.

The way not to get into that debate is to provide a link to the actual post. By stating that you were told to shut up, you are giving the message that that was actually said. No-one should have to force to you clarify "shut up was not the precise phrase used".

Nowhere in my interpretation do you see an indication that users were told to shut up in any form. As I said,

Do you see any paraphrase of "shut up" in there?
