Is there a way to have seamonkey play the sound file without the user having to download a file? Would a helper be needed or could this be embedded.
You need a plugin to play the audio file. I don't know any for Windows (don't use this OS for years). On Linux one of the following list would help:
mediaplayerplug-in gecko-mediaplayer totem-plugin xine-plugin gxine-plugin
I am using 1.1.17 in case that matters.
You shouldn't use this. Many security holes, where no fix will be published! You have to go to SeaMonkey 2.0.5, to be secure, again.
