Here is a link that doesn't do anything for me.
http://www.w3schools.com/media/tryit.asp?filename=trymedia_soundmidiembed

I get a "click here to get the plugin" graphic, but when I click, I get a "transferring data from plugdoc.mozdev.org" message in the tray, but nothing ever happens.

For this link,
http://www.w3schools.com/media/tryit.asp?filename=trymedia_soundwaveobject
the page says, "playing the object", but there is no sound.

I maintain a web site for a small historical society (for free), and they asked me if I could possibly post some sound files they have (recordings of people, etc). I know how to write the html, but I decided to make sure I could get audio files to play in my own browser to make sure I could check for dependencies, etc. I find at the moment I cannot play audio files, so I need to address that first. If I click on a link, I get the standard, "what do I do with this file type" message. That allows me to download the file and play it with media player, etc, but I don't think that is quite what they want.

I am playing around with web based sound files, but I find when I click a link, I get prompt to specify the application that I want to use to play the file. This downloads the file and then plays it with an app on my computer. Is there a way to have seamonkey play the sound file without the user having to download a file? Would a helper be needed or could this be embedded.

Please ask if I am not clear.

I am using 1.1.17 in case that matters.

Can you give an example or two?
My SM 1117 can stream embedded sound files, if they are coded correctly.
