I have an alternate solution that *could* work with the menu....

Surely an idea that could work, even though it's not ideal as well (and "Other" already exists, btw) - but all it depends on is someone to implement something.

I thought about solutions myself when I switched us to the new backend, but didn't find any that was both easy to do and nice and so stuck to what older SeaMonkey have been doing as well, i.e. forcing a specific set of zoom levels. I think there might even be code comments that tell that this "solution" is a hack, and there surely are bug comments on that and me telling that it's at least not worse than SeaMonkey up to 2.0, so we didn't regress anything, but at the same time didn't add a welcome new feature. I left that to anyone else who wants to improve things. Generally, a lot of the work I did in the last years was doing the "heavy lifting" so others could do improvements on details more easily. Now that job is done for a real lot of things and I invite everyone who can to dig in and work on those details where needed!
