It would be great if you could get this extension running with SM
completely and then contact the author. If he doesn't want to
incorporate the changes into his version, I'm sure Philip Chee would
be glad to put your mod on his site (license it GPL, so should be OK).

Thanks to Philip Chee, a SeaMonkey 2+ compatible version is now
hosted on the xSidebar site:

http://xsidebar.mozdev.org/modifiedmisc.html#securelogin

Besides SeaMonkey compatibility, this versions includes some more changes over the official 0.9.8 version:

  * Add Macedonian locale from the last mozdev.org version 0.9.3.1

    http://securelogin.mozdev.org/changelog.html#v0.9.3.1

  * Fallback to Core-DOM for accessing HTML forms

Mozilla Bug 230214 <https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=230214>

  * Recognize HTML5 input types for username

Catch up with the toolkit LoginManager:

http://mxr.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/source/toolkit/components/passwordmgr/nsLoginManager.js#727

  * Add basic support for username only forms

I hope the official Secure Login maintainers will get back in touch for publishing an official SeaMonkey compatible version, sooner or later.

This extension is a vastly enhanced replacement for the "manual fill" custom button I've suggested previously in this group, see "Password Manager workaround" thread:
