Tb 3.x, I forget exactly which version, was (also) stripping quoted
trailing spaces, but they fixed it.

Maybe the SM volunteers can benefit from the Tb experience.

Hm, are you sure Thunderbird 3+ has the problem fixed?

I only meant to say that Tb3 had the problem and that later v./s of Tb
didn't have the problem. I didn't mean to say that some Tb3.x v/s had
the problem and then later Tb3.y or 3.z v/s did /not/ have the problem.

I'm familiar with that bugthread which is a pretty good description of
the problem.

I don't have a lot of Tb v/s accessible to me. I use Tb 2.0.0.24 'all
the time' on this old Mint 7 system, which I 'wear' like an old shoe
like I used/wore an old shoe Win98se system for years :-)

I also have (just now) Tb 3.1.15 on an XP system and Tb 7.0 on a Mint 11
system. I just tested 3.1.15 and it *still* has the 'deficiency' of
which I speak, namely stripping the trailing spaces on quoted material.

This problem is 'misleading' when the composition is going on in Tb
3.x/3.1.15, because during composition/editing the quoted material has
(appears to have) the trailing spaces, but when the message is
/actually/ posted, they are gone. Very frustrating.

Why do you keep asking this when you are posting with:
User-Agent: Thunderbird 2.0.0.24 (X11/20100623)

I've reset & am responding with:
mailnews.display.disable_format_flowed_support;false
mailnews.send_plaintext_flowed;true

Any difference on your side using your newly updated TB 3?
