Correct; but I also could post here with Tb 7 or Tb 3.1.15, all of which I have tested. I have also observed the posting characteristics of a lot of SeaMonkey versions, which is what this thread is about. The only thing about Tb that is being discussed here is that Tb3 has the same trait as all of the SM's and that the Tb2 and Tb7 don't have it.

Yup, as said, that's a know bug. Found it, it seems it's bug 125928. This has been fixed over 2 years ago, shortly after TB2 release, so please try the Thunderbird 3 RC2. I just tried it and I don't see the bug, so it seems fixed.

That old bugpost is not germane here. The problem is still not fixed in Tb 3.1.15, so Ben's 2009 suggestion to try Tb3rc2 isn't worth talking about.

The problem *is* fixed in Tb's 6 and 7 which are later than Tb 3.1.15 and the problem isn't/wasn't present in 2.0.0.24 which incidentally I happen to be posting with here which I explained earlier.

Most importantly, the problem is present in all SeaMonkeys.

Perhaps Mike could/should instead post this on the mozilla.support.thunderbird group instead?

As far as I'm concerned, Tb doesn't have a problem with f=f (any more, since Tb3 is a past version for most), SeaMonkey still does for all versions, which is why we are talking about it here.

Note: posting this with the following:
mailnews.display.disable_format_flowed_support;true
mailnews.send_plaintext_flowed;false

I'll respond to any followups with mailnews.send_plaintext_flowed;true

I changed some of your lines above so that they will flow, for illustration purposes. I left some unflowed.
