I'm new to this newsgroup. And I'm relatively new to Seamonkey. I've used Firefox and Thunderbird for years before switching to Seamonkey. Many times I've tried Seamonkey before, but was not impressed until I tried version 2.6. Now, after upgrading to 2.7 I think I might be stuck on Seamonkey.

BUT, I have been reading messages in this newsgroup, in which there has been some concern about the ability for Seamonkey to maintain and create compatible addons. I too have this concern. There are a few addons that I REALLY miss -- this would be the one issue that would make me switch back to Firefox-Thunderbird. (For instance, if the Lightening addon was not maintained)

QUESTION: Is there any way that someone (preferably in the development team) who could be dedicated to maintaining and increasing the number of addons? I use an addon called "Compatibility Reporter" in hopes that someone is using this information... but I have no verification that this is the case. Also I would like to know if there is someone or somewhere that I can request an addon (current in Firefox collection)? I found a webpage that is very outdated, which explains how to make addons compatible with Seamonkey, but this is way beyond my ability. I also have requested authors of addons to make their addon compatible with Seamonkey, but there seems to be little interest in doing this (that's why I feel that Seamonkey has to try and do this themselves).

I look forward to hearing your responses...
