I get the same problem of changing fonts willy-nilly, but only when
replying to someone's e-mail. When I compose an original e-mail, this
never happens.
I'd like to find out how to prevent it.

Yes. Mort did this just start for you in the latest version. I only saw
it when I upgraded from .21 to .25.
I also find it mostly happens when replying to others, but I have found
ways for it to happen when I compose as well.
What may not be clear in my posting is that the font that I am typing
with does not change. The font of the text I already typed changes so
everything I have already typed has changed.
