Useless. This "master password" is in the profile, not in the install.
As a last resort,
re-install XP, then install Seamonkey.
Too much work. Just remove the profile and everything will be OK.

facility, represents a significant improvement in functionality.
I disagree with that. It represents a significant increase in waste
of system resources.

When freshly installed, SeaMonkey defaults to asking for a password on
startup. To change this behavior:
enter the url: about:config
after the config file is displayed, enter in the search box: signon
Find the "Preference Name" signon.startup.prompt
If it is set to 'true' (the default), then Seamonkey will ask for a
password on startup.
If you change it to 'false', then you will not be asked for a password
until it is required by a web page.
