As I said at the end of my last message, I have NO Subject: line, so
I cannot click on any little triangle to its left. In fact, as I
said, I have NO

Subject:, To:, From:, CC:, Date:.

There is an option to view Headers as all or normal. No matter which
one I check, I get no header.

Ah, sorry.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to fix that, but I've pruned
everything
else so someone who reads this can focus on the main issue and perhaps
help you.

Thanks for your help. I hope someone can help me. I can use
Thunderbird to read my mail & access my attachments, but I'd rather use
SM. Another piece of information that might help: if I print a
message
in SM, I get the headers, but they don't appear when viewing the
message.
I have found an old, old bug that might be relevant, but I'm not
tech-savvy enough to know what to do:

Bug 106461 - header pane disappears in three-pane window (caused by
corrupt abook.mab)

I am reposting this plea, since I have not been able to solve my
problem, and I am still optimistic that someone out there can help. In
short, I believe, my problem is that I see NO header pane for any of
my messages, in any of my accounts.

I had that problem once, with a theme I was using. I reverted to an old
theme and the problem went away.

I haven't read this whole thread, so I'm wondering if you've updated SM
... or a theme lately? Maybe they aren't compatible, if so?

I created a new profile and ran in safe mode. The mail & newsgroup messages were just fine, as they should be, with headers & attachments in view. I took this to indicate that some add-on was causing a problem, so I went back to the old (default) profile and disabled a couple of addons. That seems to have done the trick. So, encouraged by this success, I tried to update from SM 2.25, which I was using, to SM 2.38. All looked OK, until I discovered that all my passwords were gone! I tried SM 2.33, with the same result. Now I'm back to SM 2.25 and all is working fine. I'd like to update, but not if I have to lose all my passwords!

And to answer your question, I have never changed my theme from the default.

I'm delighted you've solved your problem, and apologize for jumping in when I hadn't read the entire thread ... and not helping either. :)

I'm still on SM 2.26.1, and just updated to that in recent weeks, because of problems like you and others have experienced with the latest versions. I was pleasantly surprised that my theme still worked with 2.26.1. :)
