Atheros AR5007WiFi
Some good ideas and solutions here
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/31108-43-help-atheros-ar5007-wifi-adapter-connecting-router
I tried the NETWORK ADDRESS number but had no effect. It was set to
'Not Present'.
The Atheros WiFi Adapter Driver is up to date - 4/27/2008.
On the "Network and Sharing Center" my Router is "unidentified
network". (?)
How does one give it a Name ? Don't know what I'd call
it.....Sasquatch ? Yeti ?
I suspect that I need my ISP to solve this problem.
Good info from Arnie.
Have you set up the router's wireless network using a cable yet?
If not then you must do so.
Your router will self SSID the network if you set it up correctly...
probably something like NG600, etc.
Once that is done and saved then reboot both the router and computer
then
try connecting.
I just did that - again.
It set itself up and I tested it. Says it is connected OK - witness
this message via my ISP !
BUT - my Hp G60 laptop WiFi will not connect.
Wife just called - car died in the middle of nowhere. What next ?! No
car to help her !
WTF ?!
DoctorBill
OMG ! A man's worst nightmare - wife has the car, calls up says, "the
car died!"
Night time - lonely country road. It is raining. Helpless. No way to
get to her. Give me a Break ! All I can think of is the Fuel Filter
is full of stuff. My Karma....
Figured something out. AAA to the rescue....complicated but solvable.
Other car in the shop.
Why do cars krap out when your wife drives it - NEVER when I drive it !
Worst conditions !
Back to this WiFi thing.
Going to call the ISP tomorrow.
I will come back here to relate what THEY say....
Thanks for trying to help on this WiFi issue !
DoctorBill
BTW - Her cell phone battery is near dead. she got to AAA, but that's all.
Wives live on the edge right near the cliff drop off ! Never any safety
net.
I guess that's why it makes me crazy when I get THAT call. "The car
just died !"
Always at night, 40 miles away on a dark country road. right near
Freddie Kruger's house....
