Is it possible to have a sig file for some of the news groups on a UseNet server, e.g., one of the contributors to a Linux group has suggested (shown me how to) adding a sig file which shows which
version of Linux I use, but as I'm posting today using Win7 that
might not be appropriate. And in a Win7 NG having a Linux sigfile
might not be appreciated ... and, in a Star Trek NG, they are
probably not the slightest bit interested in what OS I'm using.
Etc., etc.

If I was having problems getting to particular Website with my SM
User Agent string, I could give myself a particular User Agent
string for that particular Website.

So, in a similar manner, can I set up sig files based on which
News Group I'm posting to??

Yes. Use the Signature Switch extension for SeaMonkey and
Thunderbird from <http://mozext.achimonline.de/>. Besides allowing
for a selectable list of signatures, it allows you to set a default
signature for a specific E-mail address or for a specific newsgroup.
Multiple E-mail addresses and newsgroups are possible through the use
of ? as a wild-card character.

However, I do not know if there is a Webextensions version of this. Thus, this extension might not work with later versions of SeaMonkey
and Thunderbird.

Thanks, David. I was hoping for a function/pref internal to SM, but if needs must ...!
