The trick is to minimize the calculations that you place on layouts that are
to be accessed across anything other than a LAN. Without calcs, layouts will
appear fairly quickly. It's also a fact that the larger your database, the
longer it will take to open. In an earlier version of ebase, we had 400,000
records in it, and it was significantly slower than one with 4,000 records.
But once it was open, it acted pretty much the same (except for calcs).
