I have installed it on Win2K machine and I didn't have to do anything special, i.e. it is the same as installing it on Win 98. There must be something wrong with your Win2K. I would try reinstalling Win2k and see if that fixes the problem. The problem is most likely related to some other program that is installed on your Win2K system. So try installing ebase before installing other programs on a fresh install of Win2k. Then test it after each other install.
