I have looked into the innards of the IBM I inherited.  It says it has
MSWord 5.0, which is nominally the same WP program that my Mac has.

Therefore, I suppose that if you have enough hard drive space to download
Adobe Acrobat off the internet, you can "copy" it into MSWord 5.0, which is
exactly what I did, but on the Mac.  I later copied it from MSWord into an
email and lost another level of formatting, but it was readable.

Graphics aspects of the pdf formatting were lost, as expected (empty spaces
to fill in on forms).
