I would guess a pdf editor could do that. Further, Adobe do offer
conversion by e-mail. But this is only for *online* files. Send
an e-mail to one of the following address - and put the URL for
the PDF in the body of your message, and it will mail the converted
file back to you (in one or several parts)

For PDF to HTML conversion : <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
For PDF to TEXT conversion : <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.

Example:
        TO: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        SUBJECT: (leave blank)
        BODY:
        http://somesite.domain/directory/somefile.pdf

Btw: I tried to run the win 3.x acrobat reader on my 386/8MB. Holy
Moses, carving in stone must be easier! (although I don't know about
transportation <g>).

Guess this leaves me only the more outdated DOS version if I need to
read pdf in the future, or use the above option.

I have not seen any third party software that converts pdf files.
Don't know about the browser plug-ins. Guess Adobe consider their
proprietary format a gold mine - and will do anything to protect their
proprietary format.

All the best,
Bjorn
