I spent last weekend installing Trumpet Winsock on a
Win3.11 machine and found a number of little things
that can make you nuts.

I found that if the default configuration is to
use the "packet driver" instead of "TCP/IP" you
will get an error saying something like it
can't find the packet driver DLL (I forget the
exact wording).

Also, the default dial-up script has some
sequences that wait for particular strings
like "sername" or "ogin" (yes, the first
letter is missing), and you want to make
sure your which string your ISP sends.

Finally, once it has connected, it scans
for the IP address. You actually get to
see all this in the (large) dialog window
while it's happening. Two strings are
needed here, one to mark the beginning
of the IP address notice, one to mark the
end. The script is set to look for a "\n"
(new line) break to end the IP address,
but your ISP may not send it.

If you get aborted scripts (from timeouts)
I may be able to help you through this.
After banging my head on it for 4 hours, I
hope someone can benefit ...
