I've used WinImage for years under Win9x. It will do all of the standard
diskette formats (incl. 2.88M), as well as non-standard such as 1.68M,
1.72M, and DMF. It also will allow you to create diskette "images" which can
be sent via e-mail and such, then easily re-created on the receiving end.
I'm a bit perplexed as to why such capabilities are preceived to be
DOS-exclusive. Perhaps sneaker-net is more of a necessity in such cases, but
the hardware is the same. As noted in other posts, once created, such disks
can USUALLY be read on other systems.
