Hi Bob,

}- Make sure that you replace apm.exe with the one from 148 beta.
}- According to Mr. Polak, the apm.exe with 150b2 is defective.

Check, already did this.

}- Problem #1 ^ . I had this problem with PTS-DOS, but it
}- disappeared after installing DR-DOS 7.03 . Perhaps you should
}- upgrade. Remember to get the further fixes, also.

Check, I tried this. After upgrading to 7.03 none of my apps
would run execept Arachne and QEdit. Norton's AntiVirus wouldn't
run, Fprot wouldn't run, NetTamer wouldn't run, my almanac
program wouldn't run, etc, etc. I went back to 7.02. 7.03 is
far too buggy in my experience. Besides that, I've never had
any problems with 7.02 or lost clusters and chains before
Arachne version 1.50b, and I check for them weekly and do a
de-frag with Norton's. This is how I discovered the problem.

}- So far, everything is almost identical to my setup except
}- for...
}- }- I run Arachne on a 6 meg RAM disk.
}- ...this ^ . I tried running Arachne from a ram disk, but it
}- caused problems.

I really agree with you here and think you are correct. But it's
still very puzzling because I never had this problem or any other
running Arachne on a RAM disk until version 1.50b.

}- As long as it's not a doorstop. For that, you need Microsoft
}- Office service pack...

Big grin - no thanks!
