Perhaps I should point it out in this mailinglist as well? APM.EXE for
1.5b2 isn't working APM.EXE for 1.5b1 is and so APM.EXE for is 1.5b2.5 (as
Boanne has changed to BTW) and the APM.EXE for 1.5b3 (not out yet, needs a
few finishing touches by me and Michael).
Anyway, to solve the APM.EXE problem do one of these (or try them all if
you want):
a. Copy an older version (from 1.51b1 or 1.48 or whatever, just as long as
it isn't from 1.2 or something like that)
b. Change the lines for installing .APMs in mime.cfg to add:
"$e\\download\\" before the *LAST* ">" (please note that YOU must CHANGE
your mime.cfg and NOT add at the bottom (or anywhere else for that matter))
This CAN work (worked for me and Michael - but has a theortical problem (I
don't think it actually cvan happen, but you never know))
c. Get APM.EXE for 1.5b2.5 (I made this version number up myself, it's just
has a fixed APM.EXE - that's all) from
http://hem1.passagen.se/bernie/apm/apm.zip (I hope I got it right, I'm
off-line right now). More instructions are in the file mimeadd.txt
You will get a few new features:
1. no APMs that aren't downloaded correctly are now installed
2. a copy of the apm is in your download directory (change "$e\\download\\"
to something else ex. "c:\\download\\" if that's what you want) - so you
can now clean your cache without fearing for the apms :)
And in 1.5b3:
mime.cfg syntax is changed (again) - but Michael will hopefully remember to
change mime.cfg before announcing that it's finished and uploading it.
Nothing any normal user should care about. (except that if you have a
c:\apm directory where you want to store the apms you should then write:
"c:\\apm" (no trailing slashes))
But Michael seems to be busy with other things at the moment (america trip?
vacation? mail server problem? who knows) so I guess we'll have to wait a
while for that one (some of the other things are very good - but most
changes are for off-line use, atleast the new features I've heard about)
