Is anyone experienced with the PC DOS 7 (2000) programs INTERLNK and
INTERSVR? I'm having difficulty connecting a Toshiba Satellite (Pentium MMX
notebook 300Mhz) as a client with a 486DX2 50Mhz server. Both machines
have available serial ports: the Toshiba has a male 9pin port; the 486 has
a 25pin male port. I got a Laplink-suitable cable with two 9pin female
connecters, one end of which I connected an appropriate "gender-switching"
adapter to the 25pin male 486 plug.

I've tried dozens of all possible connections/configurations according to my
scrutiny of the PC DOS manual, but to no avail. INTERSVR on the 486 only
maps its various drives upon execution, and the client drives are missing.
The error message from INTERLNK on the client tells me that a "connection
could not be established". (I *do* have a great little PC card modem set up
with PCMCIA under PC DOS 2000 that installed beautifully and works
excellently -- whether or not I left this card in the notebook made no
difference in the INTERLNK problems, however.)

Have any of you any experience troubleshooting these INTERLNK setups? If
you need any more details to help me figure this out, I'll certainly try to
supply more.

Thank you all for any of your suggestions!!
