What are you talking about? you simply type sys a: to transfer the dos
system to a floppy disk, then you put my suggested config.sys file on the
floppy as well. Unplug the printer from the lpt port, plug in the laplink
cable, do your file transfers, unplug the laplink cable when the file
transfers have finished, then plug in the printer again. See, nothing to
it. You seem easily annoyed and you also seem like you can't cope with
change no matter how slight the change is. Unfortunately in life, you have
to make some compromises sometimes. What?! you thought life was meant to
be easy?
if you really want to, try talking to ibm and see what they say. Also you
must remember that some of the newer pc's come with their lpt ports set to
a different option to accomodate more demanding software and hardware, such
as laser printers, there should be a setting in your bios that will set the
lpt port connection mode to a bi-directional connection. I highly
recommend you really should get a lpt port laplink cable, no matter how
much or how little data you want to transfer, they don't cost much at all.
Please, I am trying to help out here, so when you ask for help in the
future, please try and be a little bit more sivil and take other people's
suggestions and ideas on board.
