On Saturday, "David B. Smith" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> typed:

] JT>The thought had crossed my mind, set up a rotating BBS, run off a

] JT>Now if only I had enough money for a spare phone line. Oh well.
 ] JT>Another reason to get a job.

] Heck, do you get -that- many voice calls? <grin> Should dedicate your
] phoneline to something important, not just -talking- to people.

Or you could dedicate the phone line to the BBS between 9pm and 6am
or something. But then that'd eat into your internet time. <G>

] I have two phonelines, of course, which is expensive, but doesn't seem
] that bad to me. I could probably drop the voice line and be perfectly
 ] fine.

I wouldn't mind my own phone line, then my sisters and parents
wouldn't get angry at me for being online during the day!

If I had my own line, I'd probably still use Mum and Dad's line for
outgoing internet calls still, and mine for a 24hour incoming BBS.
(Using Linux of course:) Since I have unlimited @hoody.virtualave.net
email addresses, they could each have one of those, and I could write
a script to sort it so each person gets their own mail. :)

Hmm, all that is possible now, only that the BBS hours would be like
1am (or whenever I logg-off the internet) to 6am, but my parents don't
want their number for everyone to be dialling at all times of the
day/night. (You know how some people are...)
