Hi everyone.
I'm about to tell you of my experience in
New Deal's product.
I checked a 3.1 version of this O. S. on some of
my computers, such as a 1) 286-clone 20 MHz, 640KB RAM , 40 MB HD,
monochromatic CGA monitor (amber display), a 2) 386SX 16 MHz (Goupil -
a French Brand), 1 MB, HB 40 MB Ram, monochromatic 9 inch.
VGA monitor, VGA card. 3) a 386 dx 40, 4MB,100 MB HD, VGA
adapter with 14 inch. color monitor. 4)486 DX 100
8MB RAM, 500 MB HD, color VGA display adapter and monitor.
The op. system was MS DOS 3.3 in 1); Caldera DOS 7 & win 3.11
in 2) & 3); Win 95 in 4).
In last one, i.e. 4), NEWDEAL works rather well, even in a
Win95 window... :)
In 3), it is just fast as WIN 3.11...
In 2), it is so slow to be penible, but perhaps it runs just a
little faster than win 3.11 .
In 1), even if it "runs", (never had any problem in configuring
and the wizard did always recognize correctly my "paleolithic"
hardware, even my prehistoric printers. such as brother 1509...)
it is absolutely inusable. (Only to shut down the system it took about
to 3 minutes...)
I don't think New Deal has never tested it in an old 286 ,
or they hadn't proclamed the beginning of a new life for our dear
oldies...
