Try reseating the cards, especially the memory cards and
simms.  contraction and expansion of the set can loosen them gradually,
causing many freaky glitches.  Also, dust can have an interesting result
too, so blow it out while you're in there.  It may be as simple as
maintenance time.  (Unless you've done that recently)  I would suspect a
hardware connection though.
