Me, too, but only if it's practical.  My first few years with Windows were
filled with lots of cosmetic tinkering... until I realized that it was
wasting far too much of my time and distracting me from more important
projects.  (The larger the OS, the more time it takes to arrange it.)  Now
that I primarily work with DOS, I find (in my own case) that, when I have
the urge to "rearrange the furniture" on my hard disk, it's for practical
reasons, such as, eliminating unnecessary files and programs, organizing
programs for greater efficiency, and occasionally tweaking the autoexec.bat
and config.sys files for this or that.  Then I leave it alone and get back
to work.

The same is true with large libraries and book stores.  Wherever we're at,
we need to learn how we can most effectively tune in and out what best suits
our needs.

I certainly agree.

That's true, and our most important means of effective communication is
written language.  The better we can do that, the better we can record our
accomplishments for accurately teaching others -- no matter what our
personal learning preferences are.
