There is no single autoexec.bat/config.sys file. There are many scripts
linked together. As a newbe you have no need to change these.

tip: use  mc , it's a Norton Commander clone with an internal editor
resembling MS edit.com .  mc  is very handy to learn your way around
the system, to quickly view or edit files.
