I used to do some work on the Navajo Nation in northern Arizona. The soil there is often clay and rock, and makes it pretty hard to drive in grounding stakes properly. As a result, a copper run between nearly adjacent buildings could be the source of all sorts of nasty equipment failures and intermittent problems.
