Well, on coax you've generally got these connectors:
* Phono (which you people call RCA, which is a record company, so I use
Phono) - composite video, HiFi audio.
* BNC - various network busses, video (RGB, RGBI, composite, B/W, you name
it...), sometimes audio.
* N - similar to BNC.  Wider (diametrically), screw thread for fastening.
* T (?) - like N, but has two pins instead of one.  Not used much on
standard co-ax or equipment.
* Sort of funny N-like thing but smaller (maybe MicroN?) - thinner than BNC,
but otherwise like N.  Used for satellite downfeeds (not sure about consumer
satellites, but certainly my Meteosat/NOAA installations use it).  Might be
the thing you have on your cable box.
