I always shutdown the computers at school when I see them turned on and
it's the end of the day and not many people are likely to go into the room.
IMHO it's incredibly pointless to have computers kept running just because
it takes a few minutes less time to start using them. I think they should
solve that by starting in another end. New OS is one sollution, or they
could remove all the unneeded things - for instance all Linux computers at
university look for a SCSI card while none of them have SCSI. (And shutting
down the NT machines speeds up the network as well, I haven't checked if
the Linux machines also keep sending nonsense on the lines).
