Im sorry I was not more specific; I almost knew it would come back to
bite me. Download the binaries of the Korn shell for dos at:
http://www.simtel.net/pub/simtelnet/gnu/gnuish/ms_sh/ms_sh23b.zip
Download the binaries and documents for the ``Born Again Shell'' at:
http://www.simtel.net/pub/simtelnet/gnu/djgpp/v2gnu/bsh1147b.zip
http://www.simtel.net/pub/simtelnet/gnu/djgpp/v2gnu/bsh1147d.zip
These shells are pretty hugh, but they do everything but cook your
breakfast. Additionally, the born again shell is a 32-bit program that
uses all available RAM. So its memory requirements are offset by the
fact that it does not have to deal with the 16-bit DOS, 640K limit
on conventional memory.
Also look in the simtel directory:
http://www.simtel.net/simtel.net/msdos/sysutl-pre.html
For perhaps 5 or 6 more alternate shells to command.com. These are
of varying power and size.
