Correction:  This list is supposed to be for the discussion of Survivor
hardware.  Not DOS, and not even restricted to IBM-compatible PCs.  They
just happen to be the subjects more often than not.  When Eko set the group
up (September 28th, 1998 IIRC), his welcoming message said it wasn't
restricted to anything except out-of-date equipment.  A few months after
that, someone made the exact comments you did - the context was 'I'm sick of
this Linux discussion'.

I agree virus warnings, especially for platforms one has no interest in, can
be annoying.  There was even a warning about ILOVEYOU in the Monastery, of
all places - the flamewar is still a-flamin'.  Perhaps warnings about
Win-viruses are out of place here, perhaps not.  What is classified as a
survivor PC changes - I've just visited a site who've just recycled almost
400 Pentium 266s as obsolete, and they most certainly were running Win98 and
could have been attacked by this worm.
