Okay, your mechanic isn't up on the latest parts for your car, he was busy
learning to program. Your lawyer gets you jailed for missing an important
part of legislature, he was installing linux instead. Mom had her head
stuck in the innards of her computer while her child hung himself on the
picket fence. three year olds will be grownups in little over a
decade. If they were stuck that small all their lives, we'd build cars
small enough for them.
Our culture has specialized itself because ALL of our various jobs require
specialization. Going back to typewriters and telegrams simply because
people who ARE good at computers feel that you shouldn't be allowed to use
the machine unless you can devote hours of study to it is equally stupid to
neglecting your own trade to learn someone else's. Imagine a lawyer
leaving you innocent on death row because you should have studied law!
You are in effect saying that because someone is stupid they don't deserve
to live and THAT is the most unkind thing of all. Stupidity isn't a
choice, it's a fact and it's enough to live with on it's own. Tell the
handicapped person that it's their fault for not trying harder and they can
twist in the wind for all you care, or else build tools they can use and
work to help them keep those tools going.
The simplest fact here is that these "idiots" of whom we speak are only
idiots in comparison to us brainacs, many of who are, ~cough~ underemployed
or unemployed! Those people are the working, tax paying, job doing, city
building, yard trimming masses and they are perfectly normal unto
themselves and they simply CAN'T learn advanced computing!
We have failed them in that we haven't made their tools more secure.

Inertia. It's not just an object at rest tends to stay at rest; it's
also an object in motion tends to stay in motion.
